SMS Messaging Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. About This Policy
LyfAgentOS is a software platform used exclusively by licensed life insurance agents. This policy describes how SMS text messages are sent through the LyfAgentOS platform, how recipients can opt out, and the responsibilities of agents who use the platform to communicate with their clients and prospective clients.
Messages are sent by individual licensed insurance agents using LyfAgentOS as their business communication tool. LyfAgentOS provides the technology; the licensed agent is the sender and is responsible for ensuring all recipients have provided appropriate consent.
2. Who Sends Messages
All SMS messages sent through LyfAgentOS are sent by licensed life insurance agents to their own prospective or existing clients. LyfAgentOS does not send unsolicited messages on behalf of any party. Agents are required to have explicit consent from recipients before initiating SMS communication.
3. Types of Messages Sent
Agents use LyfAgentOS to send the following types of messages to clients who have consented to be contacted:
- Appointment confirmations and reminders
- Follow-up messages regarding a life insurance or mortgage protection inquiry
- Responses to client questions about policy options or coverage
- Policy review scheduling and availability requests
- Callback confirmations and scheduling
Messages are transactional or relationship-based in nature. Agents do not use this platform to send promotional bulk blasts to uncontacted individuals.
4. How Recipients Consent (Opt-In)
Recipients consent to receive SMS messages from a licensed agent in one or more of the following ways:
- Inquiry form submission: The prospective client submits an online life insurance or mortgage protection inquiry form that includes the following consent language: "By submitting this form, you agree to be contacted by a licensed insurance agent via phone, text message, or email regarding your inquiry. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time."
- Direct mail or advertisement response: The prospective client responds to a direct mail piece or advertisement indicating interest in being contacted by a licensed agent.
- Verbal consent: The prospective client provides verbal consent during a phone call to receive follow-up communications via text message.
- Existing client relationship: The recipient is an existing policyholder and has an established business relationship with the agent.
Agents are contractually required under LyfAgentOS's Terms of Service to only contact individuals who have provided appropriate consent. LyfAgentOS prohibits agents from using the platform to contact individuals who have not consented.
5. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies by agent and client interaction. On average, recipients may receive between 1 and 5 messages per month from their agent. Messages are initiated by individual agents as part of their normal client follow-up process and are not automated bulk campaigns.
6. How to Opt Out
You can opt out of receiving SMS messages from an agent at any time by replying STOPto any message you receive. After sending STOP, you will receive a confirmation message and will not receive further messages from that agent's number.
You may also reply HELP to any message to receive assistance, or contact the agent directly using the contact information provided in their message.
7. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply to all SMS messages sent through this platform. These rates are determined by your mobile carrier and plan. LyfAgentOS does not charge recipients for messages received.
8. Supported Carriers
SMS messages are supported on all major U.S. wireless carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, and Sprint. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Information shared with agents through this platform is used solely for the purposes of following up on your insurance inquiry and providing you with policy information. See our full Privacy Policy for more information.
10. Agent Compliance Requirements
All agents using LyfAgentOS to send SMS messages are required to:
- Only contact individuals who have provided explicit consent to receive SMS messages
- Maintain records of consent for each individual contacted
- Honor opt-out requests immediately and permanently
- Include opt-out instructions (STOP) in initial messages
- Comply with all applicable federal and state laws governing SMS communications, including TCPA
- Not use the platform to send prohibited content as defined in LyfAgentOS's Terms of Service
Agents who violate these requirements are subject to suspension or termination from the platform.
